weekend en images: l’Abruzzo
Peut-etre aviez-vous déjà vu les photos sur mon blog italien, mais comme je sais que vous aimez bien voir des coins d’Italie pas trop connus et que l’italien c’est pas ce qu’il y a de plus facile a lire, j’en remets une couche et en français cette fois.
Où c’est-il-donc que nous sommes allés? En Abruzzo, une région qui se trouve à l’est du Lazio (la région de rome), et dont la cote donne sur l’adriatique. L’abruzzo est parfois aussi appellé un des poumons de l’italie car en effet c’est plein de montagnes (et pas moins de trois parcs naturels s’il vous plait!). En conséquence on trouve un tas de petits bourgs en général situés sur de petits pics montagneux, des endroits pleins de vieilles pierres et qui distillent une gentille atmosphère d’autrefois. Le petit bourg où nous avons passé le weekend s’appelle Rocca Calascio et se trouve dans le parc naturel du Gran Sasso (une minichaine montagneuse qui fait partie des Appenins, le Gran Sasso lui-meme culmine a 2600 mètres). C’est aussi le village le plus ‘élevé’ des Appenins. à 1500 mètres (de quoi vous assurer une vue impressionnante depuis votre petite chambre). Mais c’est pas tout, Rocca Calascio est particulier pour d’autres raisons: comme beacuoup de villages de campagne (et de montagne) celui-ci s’était complètement vidé de ses habitants, puis tombé en ruines. Et grace à un jeune couple de la région muni de bonnes idées et d’envie de faire, on assite actuellement à la restauration des habitations dont quelques unes sont vouées au tourisme. Bref, on loue une chambre, mais dans une maisonette ancienne, avec meublier d’époque et feu de bois (c’est tout de meme autre chose que le novotel ;-D) et on n’a absolument rien d’autre à faire que de belles et longues promenades en montagne, vers les ruines du chateau qui se trouve à coté du bourg ou carrément sur les anciens chemins de transumance…
Question mangeaille la montagne offre sangliers et lapins (en photo, le sanglier mijoté au vin ‘montepulciano d’abruzzo’ et l’antipasto della casa, une assiette de jambon et fromages de brebis, avec un quelques légumes sous huile)

L’autre petit bourg, juste à coté de rocca calascio, s’appelle Santo Stefano di Sessanio est carrément repris dans la liste officielle des plus beaux bourgs d’Italie: nettement plus grand que le premier il est en effet très bien tenu. Santo Stefano, en plus d’etre caractéristique, est très connu pour ses lentilles, plus petites que la moyenne et très savoureuses. Du coup dans tous les petits restos on trouve la soupe de lentillees au menu, on peut aussi les acheter, crues, sur place (auprès de l’agriturisme ‘Il Borgo’ par exemple), ce que j’ai évidemment fait. Bientot donc sur vos écrans: la zuppa di lenticchie

Vu que j’y étais j’en ai profité pour ramener un peu de victuailles: à gauche deux fromages de brebis locaux, l’un semi-vieux, l’autre est conservé dans une croute de son de blé… Puis évidemment, l’Abruzzo étant terre de saffran, des pistils et une confiture pommes saffran. Et encore une crème de fleurs d’ail et une autre confiture, aux courgettes celle-là, pour accompagner le fromage. Enfin, les pates: un des formats de pates traditionnelles des Abruzzes sont les spaghetti alla chitarra, chitarra comme guitare: la feuille de pate est déposée sur une série de fils de fer cloués sur un cadre en bois (appellé guitare), puis on appuye sur la pate à l’aide d’un rouleau et les fils de fer la coupent en spaghettis de section carrée…
Le petit resto coup de coeur du weekend s’appelle ‘Entre les bras de morphée’, toujours à Santo Stefano. A la fois rustique et déco mais de manière artisanale, avec un bric à brac d’objets ramassés aux quattre vents, vraiment un endroit qui a une personnalité. Et puis of course on mange très bien: encore une assiette d’antipasti, puis des tagliatelle maison au potiron et champignons.
